NCC

The National Cadet Corps has completed 61 glorious years in the service of the nation. It began as the university corps in 1917, after many changes down the years, has come to be known as the National Cadet Corps since 1948. Thus, started as a vibrant youth movement, covering almost 539 districts in our country including Andaman & Nicobar and Lakshdweep group of islands with nearly 12 million cadets, NCC is possibly one of the largest youth organizations in the world.

Our motto “ Unity and discipline” has helped us focus our attention on the two most important guiding principles to make our country strong so that we can take our rightful place in the community of nations . (i) To achieve it, cadets are given institutional, adventure and sportsmanship training..(ii) To participate in community development and youth exchange program with other countries, where they spread the message of peace and good will.

There could have been no better way to enhance the spirit of nation building in youth like NCC than to institutionalize the games, sports and other activities at the National Level. So meritorious and deserving NCC Cadets are today offered many new incentives like the NCC special entry scheme at the Officers Training Academy, Chennai, academic and sports scholarships and concessions for recruitment in the Armed forces and Paramilitary forces. Certain states and even the industry have now realized the potential of NCC cadets and offered incentives for induction.

Today, former cadets hold very high reputation and have excelled in the field of governance, defense, academics, acting, medicine, engineering, industry or in a nutshell, in every nation building endeavour. It all shows that the task of “Grooming Tomorrow’s Leaders In All Fields” has been well exerted over the years.

Our School NCC (Army Wing ) Junior Division Troop is under the command of 6 Delhi Battalion. Cadets are given regular training twice a week besides their participation in camps and other centrally organised activities of NCC.
